The best thing about this foto is I woke up horribly sick on the day I planned to go out to the park and snag a dragon for the day’s prompt. I managed to roll out of bed, literally, and pour my feverish limbs and feet into cloth and shoe, and got as far as the front porch when I was overcome with sweat and lightheadedness. I decided to take Tylenol, lie down, sleep it off a bit. I woke up hours later, sleepwalked through work — laptop on pillow on bed next to me, typing with one hand enough to trudge through the workday. I realized there was no way I would lift my head let alone my camera. I called my boyfriend at work, begged him to please go out in the final 30 minutes of daylight and catch a dragon for me. He thought I was crazy. So what if I missed a day of photoblogging, he said. But I persisted and then fell back into a fever dream. When I woke up later that night, my camera was sitting on my nightstand next to my Kleenex and cough syrup with a note to check my gallery. There it was: a dragon. Hence forth, I have to tell the world a man so loved me he caught for me a dragon(fly).
