Step outside your door and before long you’re lamenting the relentless summer humidity, but the vegetables are loving it. Many of our gardens were obliterated during the back-to-back March nor’easters so it’s surprising to see so much goodness bursting through the summer soil. I woke up yesterday with a list of wants and then this happened: I arrived home to find a neighbor had pulled a squash from their garden and placed it on my door. A gift, a greeting, a consideration, a sweet bounty.
